PP 5980 blue or grey ...

addictive or not and if yes - why? When the watch was introduced I liked it, but was not enthusiastic about. Never really thought about it and was quite sure it is too big for my wrist/taste, anyway. It was easy to forget, because it was quite rare in the...

I still have a strong preference for the Blue.

After all, Naughty Lus was born blue, and this biue is so special... almost greyish. Definitely, the Naughty Lus has to be blue! ;) Best, Nicolas

Regardless of preferences, i disagree about the principle....

If i may, sometimes its good to break the codes. Maybe we sometimes use those cliche for help when we hesitate. I say its much more exciting to go for what turns you on in the moment and not let preconceived ides interfere. "Thinking different" can someti...

Go for it... in Black!

 By: Fricks : October 12th, 2012-14:53
the blue is nicer on 5712A in my opinion. Its the iconic nautilus and blue. This one is nicer in black IMO. Put it this way, where else can you find such a cool black dial. Another thing, there are love at 1st sight and there's Love that grows on you. I t...

I wasn't that much into Nautiluses until I tried them once. And now I love them all and I know why: the shape of the case yes, but mainly the incredible dials. I tried the grey one to with the 5726 and found it gorgeous too, compared to the blue dial. But...

I love Nautilus partially because of the blue dial, while the grey is also nice. My first choice is still blue.

The 5980 blue dial was my first nautilus and has been my favorite sport watch. The black dial is unique but blue is the classic one. If you are unsure and going to buy just one, I would go with blue. If you love the black, then by all means go for it. You...

grey if its 5726. I still find the blue iconic for 5980. Having said that, better if you can get your good friend to go with you to the AD to try on in grey so he can give his opinion in person and compare the blue as well. It is possible due to individua...

i couldnt be any happier...the 5980 is one of the very few watches that works with different dial colours i mean the blue is fantastic but so is the black dial in my books and although im not into white dials but even the 5980 white dial is amazing basica...

blue. Maybe I should consider the grey one ... Just kidding :-) Thanks all for your comments! Question to the owners: Are you happy with the feel of the pushers? The ones I tried have been all very tough. Would prefer them more smooth. Is there hope ;-) O...

Not an owner, but have significant experience with the pushers on the 5980 and with the 5960 as a whole. They are indeed very hard. And sometimes they're even slippery due to the shape and positioning on the case. Really, it didn't bother me too much unti...

That picture is great!

Pushers - maybe I expect too much, but I expect it only from the best :-) Thanks! Oliver

 By: Grisar : October 19th, 2012-07:04
As far as the pusher is concerned, 5170 has the best feeling. 5070 is also quite nice. Both 5960 and 5980 feel hard because they share the same self-winding movement. This being said, I wouldn't care too much about it, 5980 in steel is an amazing watch in...

Go with what you like not what others think is best! The blue is classic but for me the grey dial is perfect but each dial does depend on the moment...suit, casual, everyday? Will you actually use the chronograph, does it matter if the "pushers are tough,...

Hi Oliver, thanks, I can not write so well in English, so my mother tongue. I think it's great that you'll advance here in the international forum, part of the PP. Yes, the 5980 has also turned my head, but only in blue. Thus, the clock is so diverse. It ...

I prefer the blue dial

 By: nautilus : October 17th, 2012-11:01
When the grey dial arrived at the dealer my first reaction was that I preferred it. Then I tried it on and thought that it didn't suit me as much as the blue. Then the lady assistant said that it made the 5980 into more of a gentlemans watch (I.e. older) ...

Owning a 5980 and the newer 5990 which has a grey dial, I must admit that the blue dial still has my preference, if the 5990 wouldn't have been in a grey dial only I'd certainly opt for a blue version :)

The 5980 blue dial is very subtle

 By: Bill : September 16th, 2015-07:14
The dial seems almost black until you put it near other black dials or it catches a ray of sun. It the blue dial a current model or is this a thing from the past. Thanks bill
