Caliber 30-255 PS - Tension on the going train

In the new caliber 30-255 PS the parallel arrangement of its two mainspring barrels is a special feature of the movement.

The diameter of the handwound caliber inreased from 21.9mm to 31mm compared tot he 215 PS.

The extra room left a void and Patek Phillipe chose for a second spring barel to fill this void. More of a estheticall choice rather than a technical one explains Philip Barat on the owners platform.

While up untill now Patek Philippe used spring barrels with a very low torque compared to other manufacturers,

the parallel barrels increase the torque of the movement by adding the torque of the two barrels (pressrelease)

This increases accuracy but,

With a higher torque comes higher tension on the going train, especially the pinions, and consquently more wear to it. That would not be a technical step forward.

Or not?
