Is this model being discontinued???

Thank you so much for the wonderful, detailed write up. I bought this watch, actually the 5296 R 001, over the phone from an authorized dealer in another state that I have bought from in the past and trust.

I was saving for this watch for a LONG time and planned on buying it in the spring or summer. I was told by another jewler in NY that the sector dial was being discontinued. So when I found this out, I jumped at the chance to purchase the watch ASAP.

The watch has been delivered to another address of mine and I will have the priveledge of opening up my very first Patek box on Friday. I cannot wait.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the sector dial version being discontinued? Either way I am VERY happy.

Thanks

A new PP owner

Thanks...

When I wrote this post yesterday, I was completely unaware that there was even any sort of discussion around discontinuation of this dial. Since this post, there are collectors that have eluded to the possibility that the "sector dial" 5296 may be discont...
