Pic 1 would be my vote for best...

...but Pic 2 would be fantastic in a different setting, not so much a standing pose on street but a more expansive view in the background would make that pose very appealing, in my opinion..similarly, pic 3 is brilliant but a view of the stretch into which she is looking would add perspective to the pose...but i have no real knowledge of photography or modelling at all so those are just views based on nothing really...great work and thanks for sharing.

Pic 1 is good. Pic 4 is nice but slight out of focus.

thanks, yes, normally 4 would be binned (setting for autofocus was wrong on the Nikon Df for a moving subject shot) but I liked

Yes, eyes open is definitely the highest quality shot of the selection. Everything falls together harmoniously! Cheers, Filip

#2 and #4

#2 because the model is more pensive and I prefer like that. But the light is probably better on the #1 #4 because the smile is top! Best wishes Alkiro

My pleasure

Make up, so I asked if she'd be interested in getting in front of the camera. Our first time together, and she has very little experience (but seems to be a fast learner)

I prefer eyes wide shut ;)

It's a more suggestive pose that engages the observers imagination.

Thanks, m4 ...

And Picture 3. Dirk

Ah, the only vote for 3! Thanks, Dirk...may I ask...

 By: ThomasM : December 20th, 2016-04:38
Is there anything about 3 that made you pick it?

Well

 By: dedestexhes : December 20th, 2016-05:44
It represents for me holding onto the now, the reality, tradition while but looking into the future. Perfect example from your other post of today

thanks for your additional comments, Dirk. It is always interesting to read how

one's work, whether an essay, photograph, or painting, is interpreted, what sort of narrative the viewer paints around it. Cheers, TM

You've done it again! Eyes open. Or shut. Both. Picture #1 and picture #2 both capture a sense of "ingenue" for me. Equally. I like both theses pictures a lot.

#2.

 By: TheMadDruid : December 20th, 2016-09:30
Definitely.

lol was that after staring at both for a long time?

the fact that you aren't deeply into photography or modeling lends a different weight to your comment, one without all the baggage of formalism and what is expected from "how things are supposed to be done." Thanks!

While the eyes are a critical part of any portrait,

it's never only about the eyes and even if shut they make a statement. In that second photo her eyes are more pensive than fully closed... which is a beautiful mood. Too bad the focus was off in the forth photo and except for her hair (camera left) it's a...
