4 years with the the Patek 5070G.

 By: amanico : April 14th, 2014-09:20
All is in the title. It took me quite a long time to find and buy my 5070. It was quite a surprise, as I was in the list for a P, but after 2 years of wait, I understood that I will not get it. Before the P, I always lurked on the G. The epitome of a cool...

Hi Nico, Happy Birthday and ...

Luckily I'm sitting, otherwise I would have fallen fainted in front of such beauty! More years pass and the more I appreciate this model: is perhaps the habit of seeing him or my taste evolves, or maybe knowing that it belongs to another period is forgive...

The sad thing is that I owned them all...

 By: amanico : April 14th, 2014-10:58
And that all of them were stolen, at the exception of the Patek... Grazie, Amico, forse la prendere per Trieste! :) Ciao, Nicolas

oh nooo!

I am very sorry for what you tell me... As a great lover of watchmaking I know that there is something of our heart in every watch we have: at least those that we do not resell, but this is another matter. I wish with all my heart that you had to replace ...

Looks like a midget with the Duometre and a giant with the vacheron..

Great watch indeed, highly desirable for myself too if the value of it made any sense.... Great cool watch...... Mo

On having 4 years of joy with your lovely PP 5070! Nice to read your story on this watch along with the other high end chronos you featured. All the chronos on your pictures are all pure eye candies. Thank you for sharing. I am in NY this week for work an...

Nice pictures of very nice watches......

 By: Sandgroper : April 15th, 2014-01:53
These are very special and beautiful watches, indeed icons. It is surprising what the design of a case and bezel in combination with a dial can do to a watch. It can make it look bigger or smaller. I believe that the PP5070G is about 42mm so the same size...

Absolutely, François. These details are much more than details

 By: amanico : April 15th, 2014-01:56
And give to the Watch its very own character. Thanks for looking, my friend. Nicolas

I took a long time to come to it...

and understand it. This 5070 chrono has really become one of my favorite patek and I must say owning this version or the P one would make me a happy man. Thanks for the pictures Nicolas and congratz for being its owner. Cheers, Mark

Merci, Mark. [nt]

What a lovely piece - congratulations on your 4th anniversary!

Merveilleux

One of my favorites from Patek, which in terms of design, is not eclipsed by the 5170. Congratulations on your anniversary! Cheers, John

I much prefer the case, the dial, the hands, the bezel

 By: amanico : April 16th, 2014-22:53
And... The movement of the 5070. It is certainly a matter of taste, but for me, the 5070 is much more appealing. Thanks for your kind words, John. Nicolas

Congratulations

The 5070 in white gold has a super readability. A very elegant and gorgeous watch. For me, much more attempting than the current model. Have you noticed that the top of chronograph hand has been very nicely bended just like those in the 5004. The hand on ...

There is, indeed, much more sensuality in these 5070 leaf hands, yes.

Thanks for your input, my friend. Nicolas

Manual Chrono ever made

Well, some Vintage Patek Chronos are even nicer...

 By: amanico : April 17th, 2014-14:42
But the 5070 and its movement is certainly my favourite modern Patek Chrono, indeed. Thanks for your comment! Nicolas

An observation....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : April 18th, 2014-04:10
.....the whole range of 5070s were loved by collectors....those that had them, just loved their watches. Those that didn't have them acknowledged just how cool and desirable they were. Then, Patek developed their own movement rather than the Lemania.....a...

+100 ! I'm totally with you...

...but I was so disappointed when I tried one G on my wrist some time long ago. NO not disappointed by the watch OMG, but disappointed by my too small chicken's wrist which does not fit with the relatively large size of 5070. Probably also because I am mo...

I keep looking at your picture of 5070

Mine is now with Patek for a service. I never wear mine with anything other than jeans....so it has picked up an occasional scratch. It is over 5 years since the plastic was opened for me...well actually almost 5 years to the day. So I am also celebrating...

I will send mine for a service in one year or two, also.

Strange how we miss them when they are away... Best, my friend. Nicolas

Right now....

.....i have 4 at service....5110G, 3483 and 5070P with Patek and perpetual calendar JLC. And do you know what, I am thinking about those four all of the time. What I have found interesting is the relative cost of getting the watches serviced. Lets put it ...

I know this feeling. For the moment, I have 5 watches

 By: amanico : April 19th, 2014-04:24
At service, and that obsesses me a lot... Among them, my 2 beloved Vintage Deep Sea Alarms. This year, I opted for funding the services of my watches, rather than adding some others. This is such a cost! Well, if I can find the right insert ofr my 5508, I...

It's a stunner. You don't need to compare it with others ...

It just got what it takes to be a reference among chronographs. I never saw all the versions next to each other. My personal choise would be the yellow gold one with black dial now that I see them. But I understand your moment of doubt. Fe my endorphin le...

You are right...

 By: amanico : April 24th, 2014-00:12
The Pt was my first choice, but the love affair with the white gold was even longer. So, not really a second choice. But I must admit that for once, the yellow gold made me doubt. Really cool with this black dial! Thanks for your kind words and feedback, ...

Happy 4th birthday to 5070G & its sibling. Congratulation Nico for having such a remarkable collection. Pity me, I am still searching for my 1st 5070G.

Hi Nico,

I recently had a very very VERY difficult evening. And you know why Nicolas... I was happy, I was light-hearted, I was reckless of the consequences... until I spent the whole evening with this 5070G on the wrist, tortured by its appeal and simply mesmeriz...

for me it's always been P then G then R and then a J, lovely watch!

5070G

 By: Grisar : May 2nd, 2014-05:11
The G version gives the watch a lot technical and sporty touch. With super good readability and a lot of strap color possibilities. G is beautiful. In my memory, R is also very attractive with light grey dial. The opinion on J is divided. Some close colle...

I don't regret my choice, Grisar, my friend.

 By: amanico : May 2nd, 2014-05:31
The G is maybe a bit more polyvalent than the even cooler P. Agreed on the J. Mixed feelings, but somehow this combo is very attractive. The More Vintage of them? Best, Nicolas.
