Ive got to say that the Ref# 5100 Ten Day Watch of year 2000 is the best simple watch

The 5100 Ten Day Watch to commemorate the year 2000 has got to be the best of Patek Philippes simple Watch.  It is not an automatic movement, I prefer it to the Jumping Hour Watch Ref# 3969, and the Ref# 5970 which is so large, and the world time 5110, 3878 skeleton, and 3940 are all automatic.  Outside of the 520, 3970E and the 5970 it would seem to me that the 5100 is a great simple watch, and also more preferable to the Ref# 5998 Gondolo Chronometro

What do people think about the 5100 when talking about all these Automatics and other Mechanical Wristwatches.  Certainly it is a shame that the 5100 was not produced into regular production.  I will say that the Platinum Watch Produced in 100 to celebrate the Opening of the New Geneva Salon probably is a closes competitor to the 5100.

Patek Philippe is making way too many Automatic Watches.  The Celestial Watch 5102 is a great wristwatch, but producing it in Automatic and not Mechanical movement was a mistake I think.

My vote for the ultimate simple watch goes to the 3939HP fnk

Yes, 5100 is a wonderful watch

but glad it was a limited edition. Adds extra flare to an already special piece. Funny thing as I think about this reference is that when I tried it on in 2000 I recall it feeling too large for my wrist. Then when I tried it on again more recently it felt...

Awesome watch

Own the PT version... Absolutely love it. I get an unsolicited compliment on this watch evry single time I wear it out. My nephew calls it "Bruce Wayne's" watch - because of the bat wings ^v^
