hi all
in need of some help. Visited local patek ad today to view and try on patek phillipe gondolo 5111j loved the look and feel of the watch just got a couple of questions i need help with.
Year of manafacture is 2006 my concern is would the watch need a service being 5-6 years old (the watch is brand new) when i asked sales person this question was told because it was unused it would not be in need of service also being 18k gold just some slight surface marks and strap slightly marked on inside obviously from people trying the watch on.
Was told case would be lightly polished if i wanted and strap would be replaced at no cost just wondering would polish do more harm or is this the quite common with new 18k gold watch.Also 5 years seems a long time for them to have had the watch or is it just that this model was not very popular.Look forward to any advise you can give
