I am back from vacation now. Just before I left, my 5110G returned from Patek for service. This year, I traded my 5110J for the 5110G. It went immediately for service and my vacation was the first chance i had to wear it.
Wow!
Just wow!
The 5110J never really took me. It sat in a safe for most of the two years I owned it. Maybe it was the yellow metal or maybe it was the dial aesthetic, but it never grabbed me.
The 5110G, however, has grabbed me....very strongly.
The detail on the dial is breathtaking and it catches the light in a spectacular way. I had thought that the 5110G was more of an evening watch, but to be frank I feel very comfortable wearing it with a suit, for dinner, at a business meeting, with jeans, at breakfast.....I love it!
One of the issues I have with many of the 5110s and 5130s is the clarity of the dial. With the 5110G there is no issue. It is very easy to read. I am compiling a short piece on a trio of Pateks that i will send out quite soon....the 5110G is one of them. It fits very neatly into my collection and is now a watch that will certainly get lots of wrist time from me. Hope you like the picture....one of my favourites from the vacation.

are hard to beat and I only can imagine the pleasure you have wearing that outstanding beauty on your wrist. The G is my favourite as well, because of the subtle & sophisticated beauty. On top it shows some kind of understatement and to me it is a rea...
The charm of the 5110 is undisputable. I am so happy to see you enjoying it that much. And I can't wait to see yours and mine for a side by side shot. Take care of this beauty! Nicolas
Agree. I have the 5110g as well and find I can wear it in many different settings. It definitely shines when dressed in business casual or a suit, but works with more casual clothes too. Part of my trio of a 3940 white gold first series and a 2526 yellow ...
