Patek 5970 watch winder?

 By: bipper : October 21st, 2014-18:54
So I own 3 5970, R,J, and P. Long story short, bought the R, loved the watch but not crazy for the metal. Bought the J and promised myself I wasn't cutting it open until I lost some weight (figured if this didn't do it nothing would!). Then saw the P and ...

Let me try again

I have no experience with it, as I wouldn't even consider a winder for a manual, but I've heard this seems to be a good candidate: ...

I have the answer! (a modest proposal, with apologies to Swift)

This is indeed a tough conundrum. I think I have the answer, though: Don't wind them all. It's a lot of work! There is a simple way to handle this. Send me the J and R models. I will devote the huge resources to maintaining their state of wind and the cor...

Reliability issue

I'm not sure this kind of winder for manual movement is a good idea. We know we have to avoid twisting the crown while winding it (tensions on the axle) I wonder how such a winder can avoid any tension as the watch would be moving (even a little bit) on t...

Mine(s) manually. It is quite easy to do. I enjoy it. With this reference you can easily use the pushpin to change date along which makes it quite easy. I don't trust a winder.

Buben and Zorweg......

.......do a very nice one, and they claim the watch is so carefully seated you cannot damage the stem. Would I trust it on a 5970? Absolutely not!

Thanks everyone

for your replies. I guess the answer is really to just set them when you wear them and not risk damaging the stem. I will look into Buben and Zorweg though and try it on a lesser model. Perhaps the G is next but I'm more thinkning of a 5204.

... watch winders work for automatic movement. Manual movement can only be winded with the crown. Bipper, 5970 has a manual movement :) Jst wear it and wind it every day

Nico, after all that time, i must still explain to you the basics? ;)

Even if it was the case, quartz movement don't need a watch winder as well.

Are you sure? ;) [nt]
