Hello Everyone,

*

Available for sale is this very rare and special wristwatch in 18kt White Gold by Christian Van Der Klaauw (CvDK) of the Netherlands displaying the world's smallest Planetarium which depicts a heliocentric model with Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in orbits around the sun, two subsidiary dials for date and month, center seconds.

The inspiration for the Planetarium wristwatch was the work of Eise Eisenga who built the world's oldest operating Planetarium.

*

Here is a small clip on how the Planetarium moves on this wristwatch

 *

CvDK is a member of the AHCI (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants) and is considered one of the best watchmakers living today who specializes in Space & Time based Astronomical Complications and is rumored to make only a 100 watches a year although I think a lot less.

The watch has 40mm case size, 18k pink gold rotor, silvered guilloché dial, outer polished chapter ring, Arabic numerals, Sword Hands vs. the usual Breguet Hands, Blued Seconds Hand,  oversized subsidiary planetarium dial at the 12 o'clock, large extended downturned lugs, sapphire crystal display screw back, case and dial signed, 18k white gold CvdK buckle. Watch is in 92% to 95% condition as can be seen from the pics. Watch was sold in 03/2001 and comes complete with box and papers.

Even amongst the very rare CvDK watches this Planetarium in my opinion is a unique piece. If you research other Planetarium pieces you'll notice most of them are in Rose or yellow gold or Platinum, very rarely do you see Planetariums in White Gold.

The subsequent fact is that all the Planetarium 2000 models came with multi-colored subsidiary planetarium dials and this piece has a dark blue black planetarium dial, this piece has Sword Hands vs. Breguet Hands, the dial design is unique as well vs. the relatively more prevalent Planetariums.

Price is USD 30,000 or best offer.

Watch and myself are based in Kuwait. Payment is by Bank Wire Transfer only. I do not accept trades. The Price includes FedEx Global Priority shipping and it could take 3 to 6 days depending upon where you are based.

Best Regards,

SALMAN
