PuristSPro BaselWorld 2011 Live Reporting - Jon Z. ( Z3) Chopard A truly integrated manufacture (if you recall, they even make their own gold!) and a brand that has a special spot in my heart, this year Chopard introduces pieces that are enlargements of t...

…of the subdial at 6 serve one single purpose, while the one at the middle serves another?!...

The inner part is a date

 By: MrkK : March 30th, 2011-17:40
I own the first version of the Quattro and my only complain about it is that the date is hard to read because the inner ring is small and the date hand is often obscured by the second hand. Hopefully the new dial makes the date more legible. -Mark

In fact the inner and outer parts are for the date:

The inner shows the odd while the outer shows the even date numbers. The ring in the middle, with only markers and no numbers, is for the seconds hand.

the date kills it. That date is just a dealkiller, IMHO. There must have been a better way to integrate it. It look like an import from another watch. Oh well, a beautiful dial and watch overall--very very striking, modern, classic all at once.

It's got so many little details, and the back side is as amazing to look at as the dial side. That's where my money will be.

Thanks for the nice pictures and ...
