but amazing wines and emcquillan always has the best advice, especially on bourdeaux!

Looking forward to trying 2003 Latour and Margaux next week, bringing them to a restaurant though so hopefully I can deliver so they open 4 hours before.

Pairing wines with watches and meals for the next seven days, with the help of our wonderful sage and adviser emcquillan. Hope to provide some notes on the experience, and I\'ve already instructed the resort to prepare decanting at least three hours prior...

Uh oh! I like all of them!

I do like Cheval Blancs, the Cabernet Franc grape is under-represented in most places. And my favorite in most years is Haute Brion. Enjoy your lovely dinners!

Thanks much...first experience with the Cheval Blanc and the Latour...

And I am hoping to do justice with this perhaps once in a lifetime moment. I guess sometimes with watch collecting experiencing and appreciating the finer of the fine is a perpetual journey. I will be the first to admit I have close to a caveman's palate,...

Enjoy!

And if you ever come to California, do visit Napa. The Napa wines are brighter than French wines, and while I enjoy French wines when they're young because they're more subdued and subtle, I have to say, a great Californian wine that is very bright, taste...

2 Amazing line-ups

Amazing line-up, both from Bordeaux and watches. Enjoy ! Already dreaming of Pauillac for dinner tomorrow 😊 Ps: is there also a « rationale » in the matching of watches and wines? /Jérôme

Many thanks...pairing watches with wines..

Really boiled down to a process between me and my wife on which wine were you most excited to experience, in some order. Mrs always goes first, and then of course she chooses the Latour, then I'm with the Margaux, and then she chooses the Cheval Blanc, an...

I think definitely in terms of honest to goodness pleasure...

You are absolutely right. Watches can be constructed, reconstructed, dismantled, reassembled, etc etc, with modern techniques but I feel a little guilty sometimes drinking any of these bottles. A little bit like hunting for a near extinct animal? But the ...

Cheval Blanc for me, please.

Will do my best to take some notes. I also enjoy reading your incredible posts and collection, and when you share your own experiences. Are there any pairing suggestions you have with the Latour? Cheers Peter

Impressive lineup!

I hope next year will bring you great health and happiness. Best Bill

I am not sure if people who don’t appreciate wines understand how rare these wines are

 By: watch-guy.com : December 24th, 2021-01:31
They are like the minute repeaters of the watch world And they are shown here like they are the most common wine in any wine store These , people , are highly rarefied wines from oenological gods . Most wine drinkers will never taste these Happy new year ...

Thanks for the note...

You are absolutely right. I wrote in a comment earlier these wines are perhaps as rare as a limited series minute repeater, but even more so, once they are opened and savored, it feels a little like hunting and killing a near extinct species. While I am c...

Agreed. I have had bottles in my cellar for over twenty years waiting for that special occasion.

Patience. But they will eventually be enjoyed. ...

I think you’ll have a wonderful experience my friend. Very interested …

To read your thoughts on the 2008 Margaux and if there is any difference between the experience between the two bottles. I think the 07 Cheval Blanc and 06 Latour should be good after 3 hours decanted and improve after that. But I would give the 2 x 08 Ma...

Thank you so much for the advice…

And am looking forward to sharing the experience. Tonight a five course Italian themed meal I will definitely ask to get the Margaux four hours now and try to do a comparison. I’m wondering if I should also control the background meal as well to truly com...
