Movement questions?

Nov 14, 2009,08:31 AM

Hi,

Any background to the movement? Is this a new movement? Why so small?

Based on the movement number--seems to be a modular chrono module on top of the base GP automatic movement.

If so,Is it sourced from D&D or GP inhouse chrono module ?

Thanks.

Will have to wait till the next SIHH, but I want to see this one in the flesh! The dial, the case, the hands are really splendid. Now, I want to see the case back, and how is the movement. I would have preferred a manual movement, but let's wait and see.....

I agree with you

This GP Chrono should be a hit amongst a lot of collectors, especially those who like the Patek 5070. The dial is classic and clean, and you have a slight touch of vintage feel too. Cheers, Anthony

indeed, that's my style :-)

Love it ! only one bad thing - and please delete this part if inappropriate ! I once had a GP ww.tc in white gold, including white gold bracelet. I think it was somewhere in 2005-2006. I liked the watch but almost every watch I sell after some time ( ther...

The same with a big majority of watches, Bruno

And if we had to choose our watches regarding their resale value, we'd buy nothing. Best, Nicolas

doesn't bother me for a 5K watch

paying 5 and getting 2 after a while is acceptable for me but if we're talking about 20/30/40 K .... My budget simply does not allow such losses

Really handsome dial, but

...too bad that it's an automatic. :-( This watch screams to be handwound. Best, Jed

100% correct

better in WG. Is it only me - I think the hands are too long? Manual winding movement would be my first choice as well Looking forward to see it in Geneva. Oliver

I noticed no stiching on the strap.

You don't see to many watches without the stiching on the strap. I like that.

I agree, Kevin, and it creates quite a nice look, particularly on a slim dress watch. Here is an example I have with me on a 1960’s Omega and click on this link to a previous discussion on straps you might find interesting. Andrew...

I have the following comments

1. the case appears too big relative to thickness, a 37-38mm size may be better 2. the movement size 10.5 ligne works fine for a lady chrono but not chrono of this size, traditional ones have 13 ligne or about 30mm like the legendary 13ZN, vintage and lat...

Interesting point 2.

That's what I wanted to check... How the movement fits with the case back.... I guess we'll have to wait 2 more months before knowing it. Best, Nicolas

i like it too!
