JLC SIHH 2011: The Duometre à Quantième Lunaire in white gold.
By: amanico : April 25th, 2011-00:01
The Duometre in one of the most exciting and interesting offer, from " La Grande Maison ". First introduced in 2007, the Duometre revisited the Chronograph, and opted for a Foudroyante. It came in Yellow Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum. In 2009, another fant...
Dark Knight .. Elegant strength.. Quite special !
By: hs111 : April 25th, 2011-00:51
This is very .. well- remarkable, fascinating, myserious a bit.. Although not in the position to really comment,so just convey feelings : - For me, this piece quite dramatically herewith changes personality, to a stronger, yet elegant edition. Yes, someho...
Oui ! .. Hell is heaven .. And heaven is hell .. How true !! :))
By: hs111 : April 26th, 2011-14:19
Indeed, the more I read about it, the more I am fascinated .. ( I guess , meanwhile I havere-read most of the reviews about this specific Duometre - crazy ? - no , necessary, in a way , as if the concept, the whole "IT" will only open itself up after a wh...
Well, I also discovered that it was one of the most interesting watch ...

To write about... So many things to say, so many sentiments to feel, so much pleasure... Next stage, a comparison post between the Pt Duometre à Chronographe and the White Gold one, with some macros of both dials. Best, Nicolas. This message has been edit...

By: RJW : April 25th, 2011-02:34
Why do the good ones have to be limited editions. There's no boutique here so I can only hope that I'll get to see one at some stage. Regards, Richard.
Forgot to ask - although 'trivial' and mundane in a way ..
By: hs111 : April 25th, 2011-02:48
Just for completion, comparison and my curiosity: - the list prizes for Duométre á Q.L. In RG/ YG, I remember to have been around 25/26,5 k ( post from 2010 by Dje, if I remember ; but maybe that meanwhile has been moved upwards..), which is putting the W...
What can i say.....simply superb....
By: moc : April 25th, 2011-03:04
no words can describe my admiration for the Duometre line and now for this black QL... Thank you for the clear great shots Nico... I love it. Mo
One last comment...
By: moc : April 26th, 2011-22:36
it is peculiar how this model doesnt come with the deployante buckle. It is very strange as many models from JLC come with it and especially at this level. All the Duometre family comes with it apart from this WG version. Is there a reason for it? Consideri...
You're right, Mo.
By: amanico : April 26th, 2011-22:44
Well, you have to know that, if I remember it well, ALL the Duometre à Q.L saw their price increasing this year. If I'm not wrong, the YG and RG are more towards 28 K euros, now, while the WG is 32 000 Euros, which makes a difference of around 15 %. I wou...
I must say that the deployante..
By: moc : April 26th, 2011-22:49
is not extremely expensive like other brands.....so maybe ..in the future... You are right though, the gap is around 4k and it has the simple buckle.a bit much but.....maybe WG is more expensive?Or a little premium for the LE?Or the dial requires more work...
The gap is even smaller, I think, between the YG and the WG.
By: amanico : April 26th, 2011-23:05
JLC is not the only one to ask for a premium on their WG watches. I don't think all the brands do it, but a lot have this strategy. So it may be due to the metal, to the L.E phenomenon, too. As for the buckle, yes, I saw it again, 3 days ago, and loved it...
WOW
By: thehorologist : April 28th, 2011-12:22
I completely agree. This model is absolutely stunning.
Thanks, EWC.
By: amanico : April 28th, 2011-12:29

I will take the two last right " black cookies". The seem so lonely. I'm starving and they may placate my cravings for a few weeks. He he. Cheers
Thank you all for your kind words!
By: blomman Mr Blue : April 27th, 2011-13:29
But my intention was not to draw focus from the Duometre à Quantième Lunaire! Just as a comment to HS’s post… ... Sorry… Will post something about Dark Knights in a separate post. Best Blomman
A watch to think about, Blomman.
By: amanico : April 26th, 2011-14:14
As I previously said ( and I think it won't be the last time I will say it ), the Duometres, in my opinion are among the nicest offers from JLC. One of, if not MY, favourite JLC family. Best, Nicolas.
I totally agree with you, Nicolas!
By: blomman Mr Blue : April 27th, 2011-13:32
My only problem is that you will get many Memos for the price of one Duometre… My stomach can’t take any more noodles..! Best, my friend Blomman
Well, Stephen, for you, there will always be a solution.

Sacre bleu mon ami!
By: BluNotte : April 27th, 2011-19:11
( is that how you spell it? ) But the MGT 43 is remontage automatique!! How dreadful to even think of it! Alas, nothing for me. Yes the chronograph is nice, i still get to see it here and there during my travels, but i'd like to see something totally new,...
Sacrebleu. Yes. The Duometre à Chrono is not totally new?
By: amanico : April 27th, 2011-22:49
It may be one of the most original chrono conception! The grained dial of the pt version is awesome, and if you're in search of a certain exclusivity, go for the Boutique Edition, with its uniqe white dial. Next year? Yes, my guess is that there will be s...
Merci for the language help!
By: BluNotte : April 29th, 2011-17:53
Although i think i'm reading that the use is obsolete in France already? The concept of the Duometre is very unique i will agree, but i think it's not what i am looking for exactly. Well, i do wish to own more JLC, but for JLC when i think of it, i think ...
A great pleasure in reading your work this morning Nicolas
By: Mark in Paris : April 26th, 2011-01:24
I realize I've just noticed that its dial doesn't have the 2 "windows" through the dial behind the 2 power reserve hands (as for the pink gold version). What I find most stunning is the contrast between the black dial and the all blue tone moonphase disk,...
Great read...
By: ocwatching : April 26th, 2011-11:44
and I held off on this post as I love the QL (just not the Foudroyante) and wanted a quiet moment to enjoy the post and the photos. Having seen it in January along with the Chrono, its a great piece and a lot of bang for the buck. Thanks for the backgroun...

Many thanks for sharing Nicolas, hope to get even more information about this Beauty going forward! Today my AD received his first WG version so I had pay him a visit... attached some extremely lousy pictures taken by my mobile (sorry, not a iPhone user)....
Thanks for your enthusiastic input, Ambos.
By: amanico : April 27th, 2011-07:13
Here is a more detailed post on the Duometre à Q.L: jlc.watchprosite.com seems that the black dial makes a big difference on our appreciation of the Duometre à Q.L. Not that the colored gold versions were not to love, but a white metal Duometre à Q.L was ...

This Wg Duometre QL is still haunting me...
By: Goh : April 27th, 2011-16:45
ever since I tried it on, a couple of months ago. Still not sure if it is the kind of watch for me though, but it is one that I can't get out of my mind. Thanks for the report and pictures Nicolas. Best, Goh
Is this a watch for me?
By: amanico : April 27th, 2011-22:15
That is an excellent question, my friend. If it depends on your lifestyle, this Duo is very polyvalent. I mean you can wear it formal or casual, there is no special problem. But it may depend on many other factors: This is the killing question, but a damn...
Very beautiful watch but,...
By: SamEE : April 27th, 2011-21:37
I like the rose gold better. it's because the front is partially skeletonized, I love that aspect of the dail in the rose gold version. I also would have liked to see a platinum version, white gold is just to fragile. Thanks for the post! Cheers SamEE
I'm happy you wrote that, Sam.
By: amanico : April 27th, 2011-22:20
I loved the Duometre à Q.L at first sight, and it was last year when the colored gold versions were introduced. While I much prefer white metal cases, I must admit that the colored gold wroks very well on the Q.L, giving it a very nice retro touch. T...

By: E.S : April 28th, 2011-09:13
When I see the WG Duometre, it is unappealing to me, maybe the gold chrono hand is too strong, the black dial is very contrast with the case, just bit boring. but this WG QL is totally different, what change them is the blue moonphase, looks much more ele...
