Horological Meandering: Breguet! +1

for the exact reason you state: there is no date at the 6 position that ruins the esthetics of the dial. I don't like the Transatlantique Type XXI because it has, what I feel, is the odd/out-of-place date at the 6. The Aeronavale Type XX is just a wonderful classic, with a well balanced designed kin

Horological Meandering: Have you had problems when sending watch from US?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but didn't know where to ask.) Have any of you ever had issues or problems when sending expensive (over US $15,000) watches from the US to overseas, in particular to Japan? This is the situation: My friend (who lives in Japan where I do) was supposed to go to Ha

Patek Philippe: Here are my 3

which happen to be very special because they make up my humble and eclectic PP collection. And while they are no where near the top of the line by any means or even considered to be "dream watches", I still love them nonetheless, as each one is quite different from the other but still a PP nonethele

A. Lange & Söhne: Well... you got that right....

I was trying to hide the fact that I went overboard buying 2 very beautiful watches in the past week, but you were very observant, Topcat30093. There were some circumstances surrounding these watches that I just couldn't say "no" to either one, so just went for them both--clenching my fists, biting

Patek Philippe: Watch is back home running fine so far

First of all, thanks for the comments, suggestions and concern. The watch has run perfectly for the last two days at the dealers, so I went and picked it up tonight. It's now on my wrist right and ticking away and building up power, after it ran great on the stored up power these past days. I hope t

Patek Philippe: I can't decide for you....but

if you want to know simply which one "I" like better, it's the 5146 hands down in terms of looks and functions. Besides the great look of the 5146, I wanted a watch with annual calendar function. The 5146 not only has month, day, date, moon phase, etc. functions, it also superbly displays them in a

Patek Philippe: And what's new in the box???

It's a "Patek" of sorts, but not exactly the ticking kind. A local dealer had a drawing for some PP goods over father's day, and I was one of the lucky winners, getting this PP tie. It's quite nice, actually; made of silk in France and doesn't scream PP (unless you look at the back). I will also wea

Patek Philippe: Another vote for the 5070G

Of the two, it's just a very sharp, classy looking watch. That said, of PP's worldtime watches, I much prefer the look of the 5110 style than the current 5130, which I cannot warm up to.

A. Lange & Söhne: Thanks for the great review and perspective.

I enjoyed reading your report and hearing your perspective on this watch. I too was a very fortunate person to have recently seen it in person. It is a marvel to wear and see in action, with the changing of the minutes/hours. I have admired the brand for a while, but just recently became an owner. S

Patek Philippe: Maybe not all hope is lost

This morning, I brought it to the dealer, wrapping it up. And would you believe? Just like the tooth ache that goes away the minute you walk in the dentist's office, the watch was running again. I was so thrilled to see it ticking away! I guess the motion from carrying it around was enough to get th
