Jaeger-LeCoultre: I’m kind of cheating, but this was on my wrist briefly today

Was visiting Wako earlier today and I had a chance to get hands-on with this:

Patek Philippe:

Yea, that is correct. I'm certain prices vary for each piece depending on its details, but I rarely see definitive pricing information on Rare Handcraft pocket watches listed so it was interesting to note. Honestly, I would have guessed a higher price and I am always surprised that items from the RH

Patek Philippe: The details of the miniature painting are more apparent in person

From photos, and seeing it from a distance at the exhibition, I had found it a bit difficult to distinguish the details of the tree and the leaves. With a closer look, the light does give more three dimensionality to the image and the details really come into view. My close-up photo does a better jo

Patek Philippe: Someone at my AD was very lucky

I stopped by my AD this weekend and saw a very surprising item in the display case! A very lucky collector (not me!) managed to get the allocation for the 995/135G "Eagle" - King of the sky pocket watch from the Tokyo Grand Exhibition in 2023. It was fun to get to see it one more time before it inev

Seiko: This watch was also the basis for Sukiyakimaster Professional ;)

As part of Seiko's Incredby Specialized Watch Exhibition they created a watch for cooking sukiyaki. The idea for the watch was that it had a recipe programmed into it and would instruct you which ingredient to add next and when it was time to do so. It was based on the movement in the metronome watc

Patek Philippe: I don't envy their marketing comms team, but I welcome precise and accurate water resistance claims

Reading the press release, the change is now there is a clear definition of what 30m water resistance means (e.g. you can swim at a depth of 30m) and they are testing all watches that they claim are water resist

Patek Philippe: It represents the international date line

When changing your local time zone, the date moves back one day when crossing this indicator. (Unless you are in the one hour of the day where the date is the same in all timezones, if that is the case then the date remains the same.)

Patek Philippe:

I am not surprised at all about the 5330G launching this year at W&W. After all, the Tokyo edition was the 5330G-010 so it seemed obvious that a -001 was already in the pipeline for the standard catalog. I do wonder whether or not we will eventually see an enamel 5331 as I think the less complic

Patek Philippe: Very odd

I can understand why they are changing how they communicate about water resistance given their updated guarantees, however I imagine there will be quite a bit of confusion in the process. That being said, I don't expect there will be any Aquanauts or Nautiluses sitting unsold at ADs due to customers

Patek Philippe: Congratulations

It looks great! One of the fun things with the 5212A is how great it looks with different straps, definitely consider adding some additional colored ones in the future.
