5167 Aquanaut pics...

Jul 15, 2012,09:41 AM

Greetings, all! This is my first post on this forum.  Thank you all for your collective contribution that has helped me know the Patek brand and refine my taste for it. My second one is arriving this week and I assure you I am very excited about it. But first, I thought I'd share a few of the photos I made of my 5167/A Aquanaut.

I was aware of the Aquanaut via Puffy on another forum but it was only when I first encountered one at an AD that it blew me away to the point that I bought it on the spot.

I absolutely love this watch - light as a feather and fits like it's not even there. But hey, most of you already know that.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy some new photos that maybe you haven't seen before...

Cheers!

Thanks - glad you like... I don't really keep close track of the camera side of things but have an assortment of Panasonic & Canon P&S and also a Canon dslr. Just about any current camera could take these pics - to me, it's all about the light and...

of a beautiful watch. What are your thoughts about the clasp? Is it a "scratch magnet" in real-life? The latter kept me away to get an Aquanaut, but I never gave it a try. Thanks, for sharing and welcome at PuristSPro and the PP forum. Oliver

Well, the clasp is polished and since the watch makes a great daily wearer it will likely reflect the life you show it. Personally I wouldn't let that hold me back. Only after you pay the piper and the strap is properly trimmed to fit will you know just h...

That is more than fine for me as I hate safe queens and I have "polish fetish" :-) Just thought the clasp is not perfect for the style of the watch. Would prefer something more simple, less shiny and (maybe) without logo ... ;-) A "military" watch for tho...

Makes me want more to get a 5164a. It just goes to show that the Patek Aquanaut is a very versatile and photogenic timepiece. No wonder the Beatles and some chief executives are into this Patek model. Thanks for sharing!

Great shots!! [nt]
