caliber 324 S 1RM QA LU vs 315 S 1RM QA LU
Jan 28, 2011,09:18 AM
hi, I have seen the change in caliber that patek has done recently, i am interested in knowing the advantage and disadvantage of each caliber. I understand that tha caliber 315 has been in thr pp 5146 sinse 1996. Has there been any difference in the 315 in all those years? I have the 315 and i have not had any problems. I wonder if the 324 is a much better caliber. like your opinions thanks jorge

Agreed. However, if all else is equal, a higher beat rate will be desired. Otherwise, you will only need a higher beat rate when you have a chronograph complication.

Firsty: the wear and stress for the oszilating system is less. Secondly and more importantly: from high end manufacturers I expect accuracy also at lower beat rates. Same applies to movements: thin ones, please. Regards Moritz

I have to say that the faster beat rate does make the second hand glide a lot smoother thou
