I almost bought this watch at an AD back when it came out

Its a great watch and definitely off the beaten path and I think is very cool. However, I do NOT think that its worth the same amount as a 5711 1/r. Thats rich even though its a rare bird. Nevertheless, you have to buy what sings to you.

Any thoughts on this 5065-1J ??

I crossed this Patek at a dealer, considering that the price is close to a 5711/1 R I was hesitating, on the other hand the watch has complete box and papers as also for the golden bracelet which seems to be very rare on this Aquanaut, ... so let me know ...

Personally not my style because of. 2 reason:

1. I prefer white gold or platinum if it has to be precious metal. 2. I do not like the old aquanaut. The position of the "3" is odd compared to the "9". But in general I like the (new) aquanaut very much! Especially with the rubber strap...

This is interesting

For this kind of vintage watches with a strong character, it is very often a question of taste i.e. what we have seen in the past. I think that its look is great and can understand what you find appealing (even if it wouldn't be for me). However, though i...

Unusual and super cool!

Come on guys!! That\'s a real marvel, and fits dead on. Cooler than a 5712 any day of the week. Thomas

Not really easy to wear. Very visible

Best wishes Alkiro

Unusual is an excellent descriptor.

I suspect you'd go a long while before you'd see another. Perhaps for good reason. If it's appealing to the OP then that's what matters

Pretty rare watch, but 5711 is 5711

 By: patekova : February 23rd, 2017-12:03
5711 is a Nautilis, it is larger, it is more desired and you are comparing yellow to rose. I would suggest a better comparison, would be the value of the smaller Nautilis 3800/1J. By looking up the data bases of the auction houses I think you will have a ...

In no more than 5-7 years we will all bend backwards to own these classic, full gold models. And no one will remember why we thought it was important that watches should be "invisable" and "under the radar". And the time of the ostentatious fotballers ove...

And Thomas as classic smaller and colored gold watches continue to

Further reestablish their importance and desirability that will be a very good thing! Best, patekova

While I personally couldn't pull this off...

.... it is quite striking and eye catching. "Blingy" yes, but who cares? Not tacky at all, far more interesting than say a day date on gold bracelet

I'd honestly go for the 5065/1j.

It may look outdated, if we compare it to our standards nowadays, but it has a certain oddball factor I find quite charming. We can't also deny the fact that we're experiencing a period of throwback to the good old days. I haven't seen that reference befo...

Looks just right on your wrist.

If you like it, get it. If you like 5711 MORE, get that. Who cares what others think! Best, Kari

Personally it fits your wrist. Just the right amount brightness goes with this Aquanut.

Its a winner in my eyes. I believe the case is smaller than the 5711r in diameter , all the more charming. Best wishes. Geross.

It holds its own beauty and charm imho!

Hi P@trick, interesting reference ! Definitely a very noticeable watch!

I never knew that the aquanaut came in yellow gold case and bracelet. Thanks for the photo. Cheers, Gordon

It's pretty, and I agree that if you like it then that's all that counts.

But I do tend to feel nervous wearing yellow/rose gold while traveling. Too many stares. Personally I prefer white metal which would tend to filter those stares to more deserving eyes. Lol

It's interesting.

I've never seen one of these... It's definitely a lot of gold! I really enjoyed the 5167R, and I saw one on a Patek leather strap that looked awesome. Seeing this watch kind of makes me want to get a 5167 now...

I love it.

Beautiful bracelet. It is a great piece. I have gotten past what others think. I wear all my Pateks to the office everyday. ( one at a time of course) Life is too short, enjoy it. It\'s a one-off a kind watch. Go for it.

Not a fan of YG usually BUT

this one is SPECIAL and - for me - the whole look and appearance work very well. An eyecatcher you won\'t see often. Listen to your heart and don\'t care what other people think or say. Best, Thomas

Much better than the bracelet that Patek uses now

If there is one thing I don’t like about the Aquanaut 5167/1 , it is the bracelet. I think it would look MUCH better with the more conventional one in your pictures, and that is true for any metal.

+1 [nt]
