why PP struggles to make watches with the simple, elegant, and ergonomic perfection of this piece.
I don't get it.
This watch epitomizes Patek. It's perfect. No wonder it's the piece Philippe Stern wore for so many years.

Is the dial naturally that colour or is it the light? Thanks. James.

You hope for something really cool to get you going. Today: TWO of the best 3940 shots I have ever seen, from TWO different collectors!!!

Thanks to all for the feedback.

This is a 3940p with a special dial configuration. At the request of an important Italian collector (documented), Patek fitted this piece with a salmon dial with yellow gold hour/minute markers. Note that it is a proper 2nd series dial, with the original ...

Very difficult dial color to capture

 By: Magoo : December 20th, 2016-05:07
Depending on the light, it varies from leaning more towards salmon or towards caramel/beige. Not quite as pink as some other salmon dials I have seen. Also, not champagne (gold) like the Dore dials I have seen. I would say it\'s most like dial color of th...

Stunning

My 3940j 2nd series is one of my favourite piece and i wanted a G or P version in addition. This is the most beautiful P I have ever seen. Just huge. Have you bought this piece? Is it for sale ? ;-)

It's just amazing

Upon some more thought I'd say it is the nicest. And you took a gorgeous shot of it.

Bellissimo, wear it in good health

Absolutely wonderful!

Does the watch have two case backs? The dial colour looks much like the one of 5450P. The only thing that could compete with this one would be 3940P with navy blue dial. Unfortunately have not seen one but... Best Kari

Thanks, Kari

Only a solid case back, as I understand is the case with all platinum 3940s. All the best, Mike

Was just wondering the very same....

I contacted Patek when I received my 3940P recently to ask for a sapphire back. They said if the original was available with one they would be able to supply one. Things are looking up, can't wait to be able to see the wonderful 240Q in the future. Thanks...

Beautiful!!! [nt]

The moon comes alive in the second photo, and the Italian adds an extra touch of romance. Good luck with the hunt. Best, Mike

Love the Italian dial!

Yours is just stunning. Would match mine perfectly ;-)

That dial is amazing...

By: Mark in Paris : December 20th, 2016-17:05
and the way you captured it is close to perfection. I must say the font they used is also a huge reason why it looks that good. Is it a reflection that gives that color or is it the dial itself? I can't figure where it comes from (Edit: I've just read you...

Not (yet) a Patek guy, but that watch is damned near perfect

as far as I can tell without seeing it in the metal.

I don't understand.....
