As for the 5960, I would not wear it anywhere near a pool or on the ocean.

Imagine what the strap would smell like after a day on the ocean...

5960-Water Resistant?

 By: Kasey : November 4th, 2009-04:32
I am reluctant to have my 5960 exposed to water. Don't know why..seems wrong. Has anyone given theirs the test. Is water resistant the same as water proof?

No water resistant is not the same as water proof

as far as I know water resistant watch can only be splashed with water not submerged in it i.e. washing hands or showering while water proof piece can be submerged to certain depth regarding marking 50m -swimming 100m - snorkeling 200m - scuba diving 1000...

Seems Strange....

that a chrono would be water resistant since IMO it is a sports watch. Either way I won't have it in the water.
