Thank you very much all for your kind advice.

 

I will be travelling on behalf of a media group and thus will, hopefully, have media accreditation. I have now been able to set up several appointments to get firsthand knowledge on the novelties of some of the exhibitors.

 

I have decided to stay in Zurich as this allows for better travel connections.

 

I will report back to the group and in the meantime will welcome additional recommendations!

No.....I had not planned on going but a last minute trip to Europe (I live in South America) came up and thus only until now am I planning the trip. Sergio

Finding a place to stay will be extremely challenging for you. Most likely you'll have to stay at least an hour trains ride away such as in Germany or France. If you do make it, there will be lots of opportunities to see the timepieces first hand however ...

We always stay in Zurich, an hour away,,,,trains run like clockwork!!!!!!!

Have you visited the website? Be sure to visit the Ramada Plaza Hotel just outside the main entrance to Basel -- some manufacturers will be exhibiting in there.

Sergio- I go over every year. Lucerne is a nice place to stay. I would bet there plenty are rooms available in Lucerne even during Baselworld. Its a 40 minute train ride. If your not attending special dinners hosted by the watch companies than Lucerne wou...

Staying in Zurich or Lucerne

Sergio- As far as traveling convenience is concerned there is no difference whether you stay in Zurich or Lucerne. Both cities take approximately 40 train ride to get to Basel. Both have direct trains up to 10PM. Lucerne may have more rooms available and ...
