New watch brand - Old boutique's name.

Today my dear watchcoholics, I'm reading your threads with this 43 mm Cuervo y Sobrinos Robusto, it's one of my non-vintage watches but I have it because is the vintage design what I love in some watches. I'm an old young man.

I think that the brand has created beautiful stunning watches with that vintage and elegant touch. Maybe the brand or this watch is not a common taste. To me, besides the high quality of materials, everything in this watches has to do with the design. Talking about my watch, this specific "Robusto Tricalendografo", with a beautiful pale yellow dial that reminds me the sense of a vintage watch makes me forget what experts and aficionados have to say about the history of the brand.

Steel case, sapphire crystal, automatic movement, central seconds, annual calendar, central handle that indicates the date, indicators of day and month, moon phase, screw crown, transparent back, diameter 43 mm, water resistant 100 meters , brown alligator leather strap, steel folding clasp and great presence.

Few years ago I went to Cuba but unfortunately my time there wasn't enough So I couldn't visit the old Cuervo y Sobrinos building. I know that today that building which used to be the center of finest timepieces in La Habana, now is a second hand cloth store, sad, but true.

I have to say that yesterday also wore it.

Well, I just have time to tell you this. See you around here.

All the best to you all.

Does anyone know more about the Cuervo y Sobrinos history?

Thanks for this post Cazalea but in my humble opinion this is more a story than a history, I mean it seems that the new owners of the brand rights (I think Italians), create a big tale based on a minimum of a true history of the jewelry shop. In fact ther...

Your links have failed you both. Wasn't C&S a jeweler, like Gondolo in Brazil and Tiffany in NYC, that had watches made for it and branded with its name? I've read somewhere that the company also designed watches at a point and some of those designs were ...

Totally right!

in the small details. I read some about the history of the jewelry "Cuervo y Sobrinos" (Unicos importadores), they where in their beginnings the most glamorous jewelry in La Habana and that\'s it. I mean they didn\'t make timepieces. Here is a link that y...

I don't know anything about their history.

Nice to hear from you. It is an Automatic Dubois Dépraz 9000 (on an ETA 2892-A2 base). The think with this watch (to me), is that I think is a very good looking one. Best regards Alex
