Every day I am more and more convinced that our dear moderator (known as Vlad to some), after coming home from work and spending the evening with his family, moonlights for Longines The advantage of not needing sleep
At any rate, their collection of interesting, date free watches is growing rapidly and the latest I found - the Conquest Heritage 1954 - 2014, ref. L1.611.4.70.4 - is another great example.

For a manufacturer in this price range to put out a 35mm watch without a date nowadays is definitely a bold statement. I'll say it again - 35mm! True Mad Men size and style, kudos to Longines.
Inside is a L633 movement, or put differently, an ETA 2824-2. The 38h power reserve is a tad short these days but probably in keeping with the original.
The watch is a limited edition of 600 pieces and as I imagine that the 35mm case will not easily be recycled for another purpose, it is all the more special.

Nice also that a solid case back has been used, with a fish motive in the middle - much better than a sapphire for this purpose.
Now all I can say is that I hope this relationship keeps on going for a long time - especially if some historic movements could be resurrected next
