5296 001 all the way...

Greetings,

I am a brand new PP 5296R 001 owner. It's my first PP and as my wife often reminds me, my last.

I was not quite ready to pull the trigger and then I was informed of the price increase. I was also told by a very high volume PP AD that the 5296 001 (sector or retro dial was being discontinued). I was devastated since I had been saving for over a year to buy. I reached out to an AD in fla who actually had the watch which I promtly bought. Discontinued or not, I love the 5296. I would also highly suggest considering the Rose Gold. It's awesome with the beighe dail and blue hands. Can't even begin to explain how happy it makes.me. I have yet to wear it for more than an hour or so  in my house. I'm just not ready to break it out, just yet.

Calatrava is the name of a famous spanish architect: Santiago Calatrava(check the net). The design stems from the above watch from the 30's - I believe a Ref. 2096. So the 5296 is a real classic design in a new case. As the original was steel, I preferred...

Ok.. I get the 5296 is a nice watch, but check out the new dial of the 6000G.. I had a choice between the 2 and the 240 and the new dial sealed the deal for me....
