A slave or not a slave...

Mar 09, 2014,11:50 AM

My neighbour once saw me washing my oldtimer by hand. I do that alot in the summer. I am constantly cleaning them.

He then said something that I never forgot and from time to time think of: He said, ' You seem to be a slave to your cars'.
He probably said it in a good way (he has some fine cars himself- but modern), but if got me thinking. Stop cleaning them
and start driving them more often.

So I say to you: Open it. Play with it. Wear it. Have fun with it. That is what they are made for.
I am sure you didn't buy it, to  hold it and never wear it. And if you did, well there is nothing wrong with that either.

Congratulations on your fine watch! Edmond

Thank you. Best, K

Dear Kamal, in autumn 2011 you tried it (first) ...

 By: small-luxury-world : March 9th, 2014-01:55
... you enjoyed it in the metal and even tried it on your wrist. It seems you had to wait quite long. What was your intenstion to go for it? A new shade in your collection of highly complicated PatekĀ“s? Just a brother for your 5004R? ... I hope it was not...

Personally I really can't understand why one would keep watch in plastic after wanting it for so long Sincerely D

Why waste your money ?

 By: chintu : March 9th, 2014-04:21
I don't see any point in wasting money if the watch is going to remain sealed in plastic and stored in a safe. The only good thing that comes out of this is perhaps the fact that Patek Philippe will never ever get a service or quality complaint on most of...

Considering the time and expense you endured in

getting this, you've got to open it! For no other reason than to make sure it performs correctly. By the way, what a watch! You lucky dog! Congratulations.

Amazing watch! You know better what do do with this "double seal". Regards, Constantin

Congrats, and enjoy it

I can understand the fear, since cracking it open "takes down the value" by a chunk of change. It is like putting the first 100 miles on that expensive car. But life is short and you waited a long time for it - crack it open and enjoy

You got to open, date is stuck on friday :)

 By: Fricks : March 9th, 2014-13:44
... while you are hesitating to open it, i wonder how you can actually resist.

Stunning!

Many congrats - hope to see a wrist shot soon!

Congratulations!

Hope you wear and enjoy yours as much as i do mine! And always in good health. Sincerely H.
