Mark I like your way of thinking!

Mark, I am very very happy with the Patek Philippe watches I have. I do not have even one I would give away or trade. All of my watches are serving a purpose.
I wanted to get a Calatrava that fits to my taste. It is not a common or popular watch but it fits to me and that's the reason I will get it (have to pay first to the AD) next month. I will get another PP from Honolulu, this time with Tiffany dial, and there are my reasons for that. I will tell about those later in a very long post.
The current Patek collection have still some watches I would like to have; but those are not "musts". An example is 5370P - it's a lovely watch but there are two issues with this watch: First of all, it's a bit big to my taste and secondly, I feel that from some other watches I can get better value for my $$$,€€€.££.
The watches I listed in my earlier reply to this post are kind of dreams. I am not dreaming about rarity - that's why I was not really interested about the Anniversary watches before TM's post about the World Time. I am interested just and only on the watch itself.
A good example is 5550P. It is so different compared with "normal" 3940/5140. The differences are both on the dial and mostly in the movement. This watch has also an exceptional 5 years warranty time. Finally, if we think that 5140P represents about fair value, then 5550P costing the same represents tremendous value.
I have tried to jump to other Brands in order not to be a plain Patek Man. But the service of both JLC and Blancpain Boutiques has been so bad, that they have been really throwing me back to the door steps of Patek. I made quite an investment in order into go to the world of Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak. By investing an amount of money corresponding i.e. a 5711 Nautilus + 5167 Aquanaut + 5196P Calatrava, I got two watches which do not work. However, I must give big credit to AP: they took the issue seriously and try to fix the problem.
In the world of Patek, the Brand at least gives the impression that they listen to their clients. It's not just one brand name in the very long list of brand names owned by a huge public company. I can always dream that one day my dreams will come true and I will notice that now Patek is releasing my Dream Watch. Rare or common - a watch I would love to wear on my wrist.
So I guess, in the end I'm a Patek Man.
Best, Kari
