Probably well known by community here that first 3940 had 240Q movement number starting 770000 with first 25 being beyer with matching 7700XX number also being on dial ; but perhaps not known is that first 100 had a large star moonphase - unfortunately most likely upgraded in service by now. for me something always better or nostalgic about the older stuff - it might even by in stone/lapis? but either way interesting and I prefer big star design.
patek even differentiates first 100 movements
The big star 100 ⭐️
subsequently rest after movement no 770099 are small star moonphase definitely not stone but painted

Imho the small stars ratio to the moon

Looks more elegant. The big stars feel a bit crowded. But for me still nothing beats the smily face of the moon phase of a Blancpain complete calendar from the 80s
Indeed!

I knew that there were different moonphase designs, but this is the first time I've paid attention to how they were different. All good stuff to know!
