I had no idea, I was just responding to the question posted.  I am falling in love with this watch more and more every day.  I love that it looks like a vintage piece but is made with current materials and technology.  I almost passed on it and am really glad I decided to buy it.

First Patek, 5035J

I got this used a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I caught the watch bug in 2009 when 42mm cases and bigger were already commonplace and as I began the accumulation phase of my addiction most of what I bought was 42mm and bigger. Having bought thi...

Small is very relative, indeed.

I find my 5110P, which is the same size than yours, absolutely normal. Better said, I would say that 37 mm is an elegant size. I love reading that your love affair with this Watch is getting stronger and stronger with time passing. And that your rotation ...

Coming back to the future

Dear Stewart Congratulations and welcome back to the future normal club. I've had watches between 32 and 50 mm diameter over the years. I survived the Schwarzenegger vs Stallone Size Wars. More insidious than diameter inflation is that 'tuna can height' p...

You are absolutely correct about the height/thickness

as well as the diameter contributing to size. What is funny to me is when I started getting interested (again 2009) one would see many more offerings that were larger than 40mm, and I must admit that when I started spending larger amounts of money I wante...

I have been interested in the Patek 5035 and had the opportunity to buy a platinum one with full box and papers, including the Certificate of Origin, not extract from Archives. I am wondering, some of the 5035s have IV and some have IIII. Which are more c...

Did you get the answer to your question?

 By: docsnov : August 26th, 2014-17:36
I did not respond because I don't know the answer. I think my watch was made in the early 2000's and has a IV, I don't know if this is the newer dial or not. If you got the answer I would be interested in hearing it. Stewart

Never seen one with IIII

To my knowledge the 5035 only had the IV as the 4 o'clock marker and never what some might consider the more traditional IIII. It's a fantastic watch with historical significance (world's first annual colander wristwatch). I owned one for years but eventu...

a perfect size. This movement was designed for this size case. The later expansion to the 5146 was an afterthought. This one is the classic annual calendar.

Congrats ! Looks really nice..
