that's a decision I do not understand

I spoke 2 or 3 guys who were in London and indeed, it seems like they made 5 or so extra 5070 and 5970 ( or was it 3970?)
I honestly don't understand and even don't like this. a discontinued reference should stay discontinued. No reason is imo good enough to bring those back to life. What is next ? A few extra 2499 ?
This is my personal opinion but it is imo not good for the brand.
Don't want to compare Patek with Panerai but Panerai did this in the past. ' for example ref PAM26'. A collector is happy to have a nice sought after discontinued piece and suddenly they decide to make EXACTLY the same watch again a few years later. This is one of the reasons why I turned my back to Panerai
I would accept something like the ref 5105, a wonderful watch they made in 2006 for the Geneva boutique. They found some old stock 9-90 movements and put them in a great watch. But at least it was a different watch than the pieces they made between 1930 and 1950 with the same movement. It was a tribute to these old pieces … BUT it was different. A ref 5105 is not at all the same as a 460, 1450, 2442, 2471, ….
Another possibility, use an existing case but use a caliber from another era. Ref 2411 ( also cal 9-90) is known as the 'Eifel Tower, also a watch from the 1940's
Later we had the Pagoda ref 5500. At first sight similar looking BUT … a bigger case, another movement, another reference.
This time … the same watch, the same movement, the same case and even the same reference ??? I really do not understand this.
