I am offering for sale/trade my Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Equation of Time Platinum Skeleton Limited Production reference # 25963PT.OO.D002CR.0105. The original list price on this piece was just over $165,000 in 2003. One of the most spectacular pieces I have ever had the pleasure of owning for almost 15 years. This piece was special ordered brand new from The Timepiece Collection in Englewood New Jersey, an Authorised AP dealer. It is my understanding that this piece is one of only 3 produced with the New York bezel and cams. Housed in AP’s Jules Audemars case, the watch measures a perfect 39mm, comfortably wearable on any size wrist. The base calibre is the legendary cal. 2120. Building upon this, AP has then added a perpetual calendar with moon phase, sunrise and sunset times, and the equation of time complication which accounts for the difference between true solar time and conventional time. This piece is quite simply one of the highest level complications produced, easily on par with minute repeaters and tourbillons. The icing on the cake is the complete skeletonization of the entire movement from top to bottom by hand, NOT by any type of cnc or spark erosion machine. In conversations with AP, I was told that this skeletonization handwork alone took upwards of 40~50 hours to complete. This is on top of the time it takes to assemble the movement and case components. Under a loupe it is obvious that the level of finishing is nothing short of incredible.

Having collected watches for well over 20 years, I have seen the term “rare” used excessively to describe pieces that are easily found via a quick internet search. I assure you that this piece is not one of those. Production of these pieces was pretty much on a made to order basis only back in 2003~2005, and given the long lead time, and high list price, very very few were completed. Adding to the rarity is the fact that each piece was produced to order for a specific location. Owners of these pieces had them made to order, waited the 6 months~1 year to be produced, and were willing to pay pretty much list price for the privilege. The few pieces I know of beyond this one are loved and cherished by their owners.

The watch comes complete with everything as sold new including the watch (PT 950) on the original strap, original AP platinum folding deployant buckle (PT 950), the AP battery powered winding box, push pin corrector for the date/moonphase, 3 books including the stamped, but undated Certificate of Origin/Garantie from the Timepiece Collection (Authorised AP dealer), User Manual, and Service Manual. At the moment, I am unable to find the hang tag, but I am certain I have it someplace and will need to do some searching.

The condition of the watch is wonderful. I would rate it 92%~93%, with the only signs of use being extremely light swirl marks mostly on the highly polished bezel/lugs, and some tiny pinprick size marks on the brushed sides of the case. The strap is in similar condition showing slight signs of bending, but has no sweat stains or marks of any type on the underside. The watch has never been opened, serviced, or polished. It runs flawlessly, as well as all the push pin correctors working without any issues.

The reason for sale is quite simply to reduce my collection in terms of overall value and pieces. As such I would prefer an outright sale, but would happily consider trades as long as I receive roughly 50% in cash. One watch I am specifically looking for is an F.P. Journe Chronometre Bleu.

I am asking $62,500 or best reasonable offer/trade. As I have made the decision to sell, I am very motivated and willing to work with any interested parties to make a deal happen. I have impeccable references, and expect the same from any potential purchaser. Delivery of the watch to be arranged, but mostly likely I would hand deliver almost anywhere in the world, allowing for a bit of time to coordinate plans.

I am always happy to answer any questions, either about the watch in general, or specific to this particular piece. Please make all enquiries via WatchProSite PM.

Warm regards.
