Hard choice - a toss-up for me.

It depends what else you have in your collection would be my answer (as useless an answer as that may be!).
The L1 is an update to a super classic, but the movement and ethos of the Duometre is more interesting in my opinion.
Visually, do you (and your collection) prefer/need a warm RG egg dial or more sober (but still beautiful!) WH black dial more?
My father-in-law actually picked up that exact Duometre last week (I may or may not have given some gentle guidance). He loves it, and I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to take pics.

No question for me - the Lange!

I love Lange and JLC but the Lange is (a) better sized on the wrist while the Duometre is a tad big (b) the new moonphase day-night is just so cool

if you already have a Lange in your collection, than go for the JLC. Both have different functionalities and purpose. As for me, this black dial L1 is lovely !
Both are beautiful.

I would choose the Lange personally. Aris

I am surprised at the degree of consensus on such a clearly subjective judgment. But maybe not that surprised: AL&S is hard to surpass in its austere beauty. In response to some questions: I don\'t have a Lange currently, and I don\'t need more RG in the ...
