Usually a different one each day
Jan 23, 2010,10:32 AM
Being a woman, I can say without embarrassment that I match the watch to the outfit for the day. On workdays I generally pick everything out the night before including watch and jewelry, wind up the watch and set it (day and date too, I am fussy), but I reserve the right to change my mind. I have certain more rugged watches that I will change out of when I finish doing whatever messy activity I was engaged in, and dress watches for evenings out, but otherwise I tend to wear the same one all day. In hot sticky weather I tend to rotate much less - there are a few that are most comfortable.

I keep a few on a winder for "grab and go" use.

To stay on a winder, a watch must be accurate enough that it won't have to be set frequently. All my other watches I jut pick up and start wearing as the mood strikes me. I almost always wear at least two watches in a day (daytime and evening). Most of my...

if you are out and about different watch for different scene or mood, i use to use a winder but found that i still had to wind them after about week and a half do you find this too?
I have adjusted my winder so that the watches don't run down.

I use a windmill-style winder on a lamp timer, so I just adjusted the amount of running time per day until I got where I wanted to be. (The timer doesn't work well with single-direction winding watches. When I want to keep one of those on a timer, which i...

There is only one rule : there is no rule!

... that's what i decided to apply regarding my relation with watches ... How i choose them, the budget for them, what i wear, when i wear, for which event i wear it. I decided it was best not to impose myself a discipline. I tried to in the beginning, so...

Hi gazoz, interesting question of you which resulted in some interesting answers as well. I wear my watches in no regular pattern, but depending on my daily schedule: if I´m at work which means gloves, desinfectant use, possibilty to hit something I ...
Don't really plan it out.

Been wearing my grand Seiko mostly. If there is any "reason" for me to pick a specific piece over another it would have to be based on: 1) event I'm heading to, or, like Ginger, 2) what I'm wearing. Warmer colors with colored metals, cooler colors with wh...

....If I just bought a new (or Vintage) watch than I will most definately wear it for the week or maybe longer. Often I wear a watch during the week, and change (according to activity or going out) on the weekends. But I have also had a long time that I h...
