The 5712 is in stainless steel

I forgot to mention one thing, although i will be getting it in the next 2 to 4 months, i will not be wearing it for the next 20 months as it is for my 50th birthday and will only see wrist time from then on-wards.

I know we all laugh when we see questions like this - which one to keep or sell but any advice would be much appreciated. I have been able to get myself a 5712 which will be coming in the next few months. So i was thinking of letting either my nautilus 38...

The problem with this kind of questions, James

Is that you will have personal answers, reflecting personal opinions, which will be very subjective. I would let go the 2 tones Nautilus, if you are on to get the 5712, to diversify your Duo. But I'm not YOU. Welcome here, by the way! Best, Nicolas

Welcome James. Nicolas says it all...

If I am lucky to be in your position

If I am lucky to be in your position, I'll let go the 3800 because I won't find myself wearing it anymore with 5712 in da house! Anyone has a different opinion?

I will let go BOTH for the 5712.

because you will find these 2 watches are abit dated if compare to 5712. Good luck.

i am not sure this helps, but

I'd let the gold one go simply because i am not a massive fan of gold. But that just tells you that in watches, personal taste is everything and nobody has a monopoly on what is "good taste" and what isnt. Go for how your heart tells you

My personal opinion.

If I had to let go of one to get the 5712, it would be the 3800. Regards, Richard.

Which one to keep?

 By: henryhoe : June 29th, 2010-06:30
Personally I will just keep the PP5065 and let go the PP3800. Fo some reason the latter just doesm't appeal to collectors as evidence by the popularity. Henry Hoe

You've gotten a lot of advice with which piece to keep.

I do believe the one which would be the easiest to sell is the 5065, but do you have to sell one in order to get the 5712?

When I was you, I would sell the ....

... 3800 because I find a mix of gold and steel always to look a bit cheapish. The differences between the 5065 and the present 5165 are not that big and in hot days an Aquanaut is such a pleasure to wear. You could also sell both and buy back something c...

What I do not get at the moment is the change in size that you are going through. Both present watches that you own are 38 mm and your new aquisition is a 43 mm. Have you tried one 5712 on yet? As an advise which to keep: keep rather the 5065 as a 43 mm N...

Hi James If there are 20 Month before you will use the watch, than I would say keep all 3. Look at it this way: In 20 Month have you probably anyway bought a few more watches. And can you live with only to be able to wear one PP for the next 20 long Month...

two-tone

 By: watch-er : July 1st, 2010-07:05
I may be alone on this but I think the two tone is a very dated look of a short term fad in the 1980's following the Rolex lead. I think all steel, same color gold or all plat. is the traditional and lasting way to go. So, I would sell the two tone Nautil...
