Hi Martin, the 5059 is no longer..................

May 16, 2009,00:12 AM

In production.

It was replaced by the 5159 approximately 18 months ago.

Apart from the differences on the dials that you can see  by looking at photos of them.

The main differences I suppose is the size and movement. The case on the 5159 is 2mm bigger.

And I believe that the movement on the 5059 was the 315 and until quite recently it was the same for the 5159, but I now understand that the newer one's have got the 324 calibre fitted.

I hope that this helps.

The 5059 is a far superior watch, better in every way. That's because I own the 5059 and not the 5159 which I cannot afford at this time and until I can acquire the 5159, it will remain a lousy watch, not worthy of the metal in which it is encased.

have both

much prefer the 5159 .. thinner, nicer romans, more symetrical.. the dial is a bit busier due to the pattern, but it grows on you and draws the odd compliment from strangers. Highly recommend the WG .. I paid less than the 5059 in same metal.. Thank-you f...
