I have found a new Patek 5056 at an AD, the problem is they do not have the
box and papers due to being lost in shipping. My question is how difficult is
it to get archive paper work and does this hurt the value of the watch.

I believe that you have to wait for about 6 yrs from date of mfr of the watch to be able to apply for the archive papers from Patek. So I have been told by dealers ... I have not contacted Patek about this directly, so the info may not be totally accurate...

They claim that the watch and papers are shipped to them separate for security reasons and that the papers were lost during the process.

If I were you, I would contact the local distributor and see what they think of this story. I believe my AD will just return the watch to Patek instead of confusing a customer like you. Personally I wouldn't buy it, also would query this so called AD of y...
