the "Wow" factor for the person contemplating the purchase? Is it something that literally creates a tingling sense of excitement and joy when looking at the watch in the metal. To buy a watch because, "I really don't like diamond markers but they don't look so bad in person"; or "I really don't like the idea of tombstone style embossing on the dial, but in person it is not so offensive as I thought it would be" eliminates the Wow factor.
Ideally, one should buy because the watch, including the diamonds and embossing on the dial add to the appeal not because they are not as noticeable in a negative way as expected from viewing images.
On a different note, Kari, to admit to having made a possible mistake in rushing to judgment of something is a rare and much to be admired trait!!!
