Thank you all for your kind words...the London Event for the Patek Salon

Firstly thanks everyone for the amazing comments..there are some new pieces there (3) which are actually rather rare and hard to come across and do enjoy them.

The London event for the opening of the new Salon on Thursday was indeed a spectacular night!

There was firstly cocktails at the new premises at 6 pm;the showroom is quite amazing and now reflects the brand completely..it is designed amazingly with lots of space giving the individual customer an element of privacy and discernment, the stock is plentiful and varied and well displayed and in the basement the watch service centre is open and visible for customers to see.It is all well thought out and in my opinion the best premises on the entire length of Bond Street for sure. There is aWow factor when you visit now for sure.

There were some 80 to 100 invited guests  for cocktails and we were then whisked off to the secret location for dinner ..it turned out to be the spectacular  Somerset House where in the middle a structure had been set up for dinner with awesome views of the location and images of horology projected on the buildings.

The food was delicious and as usual Patek outdid themselves.A special thanks to Ed the Manager in London and Izzie who organised it all.Actually the entire London Team is simply the best....its not just about the watches or the brand  but each and everyone of them go out of their way for everything and are kind and helpful and they are lifetime friends for sure. There are a lot of learnings here for the other brands that try to woo customers...there is a "Patek way" that London does and has perfected that just stands ahead of all the rest.Bear in mind I'm not a mega customer of new watches..its primarily vintage and yet I have always felt at par with the big buyers of the current line up when it comes to the interaction with the brand in London.

I do however find at these events  tend to be formal and a bit stiff (which is great for the event itself) and it would be good to have more interaction amongst the like minded of the different categories of collectors. On my table I got to see a lovely steel 5004 and an amazing sector dial ref 96!One really meets different people who collect and thats great.

So it was truly a great event and most memorable!I The Believer was yet once again charged up smile

 I attach a few pics

Best

Roni

about that event. My favorite part was this "each and everyone of them go out of their way for everything and are kind and helpful" and this "meets different people who collect and thats great". I think we both agree that it is all about the people and th...

amazing collection, very personnal too, and I think that's the most important. Again the Gilbert Albert I could spend hours looking at them, and that "Devil horn", so amazing especially with the Gold black dial combination. cheers François
