Finding some vintage pieces can prove hard and that process of firstly researching a watch that you love from Patek's history and then going about finding it provides a different type of enjoyment. Arie, you ask why go vintage? My question would be why restrict yourself to just modern when 95% of Pateks are not modern.... why restrict yourself to just the current issue of watches when there is a treasure trove of possible watches that you might love from the vintage world?
To my mind, the prefect balance is a mixture between the two....modern and vintage.
a fabulous collection i especially like your platinum chrono and cloiesone world timer. all are beautiful , wear it in good health. congrats & best geross
... and good move that you've opened the sealed ones ;) So what are your impressions on those patek, which one is your favorite, the one that is growing on you, etc... Btw, very various taste, that daytona is so bold! Somehow even if i don't see myself we...
Who needs a dual timepiece when you have a collection like that! That's what I'm talking about! Wear two at a time and set them for different time zones. I can't wait to see your post on Automotive!
It must be hard to decide what to wear. Having picked all these pieces up in the last 6 months it will be interesting to see what you pick up in the next year. I am sorry I doubted the veracity of your collection. If not the most impressive it is certainl...
Hi guys. I'm gad you guys are enjoying the pieces and the shots.....it was taken by a professional photographer at my office....my vertu phone is actually a prop to make it look like selfie shots! LOL Everything said and done, I know everybody here is gen...
Wonderful collection! And if you prefer to keep them in plastics, by all means…it’s unfortunate there are individuals who prefer to be cynical doubting your ownership of these wonderful pieces rather than using this platform to appreciate each others’ acq...
I was still hoping u would do the middle finger thing LOL..... That would teach them a lesson. To those who where so nasty , now you look like fools. Your silence will only show your lack of character. If you are a man, now is the time to prove it If you ...
Well said Iceman! Many of us have been more of a lurker of than a contributor to the forum, and it's unfortunate to see those unnecessary and nasty comments. You shouldn’t have told them the obvious, let more fools be made of themselves so they can contin...
I personally do not like some of the responds made by Jeff, but i suppose he was pushed too hard by acclaim "EXPERT". My point is We as older members here sd guide Newbies and be a good example. Not attacking just because he is collecting differently fro...
I deserve Jeff's middle finger, and again humbly send apologies. This place would not be fun if we always agreed with each other and were always patting each other on the back. If I choose to post a strong comment or voice an opinion that is argumentative...
And I concur we do not always have to agree on everything. But what we all should agree is we sd be always polite/civil when conveying a respond. Best Iceman
.....i watch with great interest to see how your collection develops....where to go, where to focus. Thanks for these beautiful shots and for having the patience to do it.
Nice watches. But I'm really more astounded by the Bulgari cuff and snake ring. After all I see a lot more watches than snake rings. Thank you for the photos! Are the photos really taken from your Vertu phone? Or is there another camera taking the photos?...
Thanks.! I'm still very new to watch collecting and guess will need some time to learn more before I decide to look at vintage pieces. That's part of the reason why I'm in this forum! Cheers!
if you can get beautifull new and unused true collectable watches (and you already have + you have got the means to do it) and create your own vintage collection as time passes! And be carefull for all the 'wise' opinions of others (especially those jealo...

yourself to modern. Am not saying you shouldn't buy vintage. Just saying that Vintage isn't heaven. Often the watches look terrible in my opinion. Messed up dials and hands which lovingly will be called patina. Patina often means rough state if you ask me...
I now see that you are not trolling, Arie, and that the value of vintage is actually lost on you. So be it. But, as far as I can tell, no one asked you your thoughts on patina, and frankly, given the merit of your comments, I suspect no one will. I agree ...
I have no problem with different opinions....its what life is. What I think is important is that one's own view of an aspect isn't seen as "fact". One person's beauty is another person's horror show. There is no right or wrong in personal taste. Just diff...
with you on this Baron. And I really enjoy reading peoples varied opinions and reviews on this forum. The expertise is quite high and people are polite. Difference in taste and opinion however should be coveted otherwise this would be a very boring place....
Here's to hoping you someday discover an appreciation for old things, and the endless rewards of being born again into the past through discovery and learning of what has come before. If you are being sarcastic, I hate to think I'm feeding the troll...
