Someone in another thread mentioned a spike in gold prices at a point during the production years that led to an increase in platinum pieces. Why this affected yellow more than rose and white I am not sure-unless it has to do with the purity of gold in yellow (perhaps?), but many different posters and sources confirm that yellow is the rarest 5970. And yes, if you search for this reference you will find that yellow is consistently the least expensive option, by quite a lot.

Dear All, Would you agree that yellow gold is the most rare metal for the 5970? I recently heard that there were as few as 150 5970j's produced. Sounds very low?? Regards

However, I don't think that in this case, it is reflected on the collector's valuation of the metal.
