Since I hope to acquire the 5146p in pre-loved condition I surely hope that previous year models also came standard with the deployant/foldover.
BTW I watched the Sarkozy video - and I wasn't nearly as entertained as I expected! ;-) I know it's an old video but it's the first I heard of it. When I did a search I first read the headline "Sarkozy doesn't trust his own supporters" I envisioned a smug, slick politician starting to approach a throng of economically challenged voters who were clamoring for his attention/touch/generosity/perhaps a loaf of bread, and as he starts to reach his hands out to them he stops, hesitates, backs up out of reach, slyly turns away from the crowd to shield his wrist with his body, carefully unclasp his Patek perpetual, and hand it to the head of his trusted security detail with a knowing wink... or something hilarious like that. But no, upon actually viewing the video - the watch removal was more innocent and spontaneous. He was walking fast, almost swimming through a line of people who were just grabbing for his hands, and one man unintentionally clasped his hand entirely around the Patek and squeezed hard enough to pop the clasp open. To Sarkozy's credit he continued to shake hands while a small, easily fenced item of practically double the annual salary of anyone of the supporters dangled precariously from his hand... and the crowd continued to paw at him. I'm surprised the Patek wasn't clawed off his wrist and smashed dial first on the pavement - crashing the sapphire into a cobweb. Luckily he played it safe by removing the Patek from his hand and placing it into his left (out) side coat pocket. I just hope it was still in that pocket when he completed his glad handing.
