which is quite special, not to say (almost) unique. You got two very nice watches in one year and that is just great, still it is nothing that special in the world of PP. There is something I also had to learn and I am absolutely sure that I am not the only one here. It doesn´t matter how much money you spent on PP´s, there is a big chance that someone spent even more in the same time. PP increased the production significantly in the last 25 years, but (quite often) it is still not enough for the market demand and especially if we talk about the highly complicated and/or rare pieces.
"Super" rare pieces are asking for superb relationships, not to speak about the cash in hand and patience. Maybe you are the most important customer (of the year) at one AD, but what is about the importance of your AD in the dealer network of PP?
What I want to say is, think about if it makes sense for you to collect rare pieces ("only"). It can be quite frustrating. Of course there are some people who manage to get amazing pieces in a very short time, but I doubt they got (all) their pieces new from AD. Quite a lot of pieces are available in the "second market", for those who pay (sometimes almost crazy) premium money. If there is a strong market, someone will sell ...
I know collectors which bought at least one PP (from simple Calatrava up to perpetual calendar chronograph) and have not been able to get anything from the 175th Anniversary pieces. We never saw so many LE pieces for an anniversary, but as I said before it is still not enough for the demand. On the other side some people already make jokes becauce of the high volume of commemorative pieces this time ...
I would recommend to talk to several AD´s (maybe even in several markets) about your (long term) goals and I would listen to their proposals. After this you have to decide which AD is the best for you.
Take your time and enjoy the journey!
