It appears to be correct from the standpoint . . .

. . . of faithfulness to originality, Edward, but it looks like there's been some exposure to moisture. Cordially, Art

I agree with you, there is nothing to write about the condition. However the correct patina dial is very tempting. Thanks forr your response. Ed.

Seems legit to me...

Original non-repainted black textured dial with some patina/age with an equally aged/stripped but correct cal. 505 movement in an uncommon 2887 screwback case. My main reservation here is the condition of the piece rather than if the dial, movement and ca...

Correct and original script on the dial.

Yes, the font is correct with the movement serial number which is in 15 mil range (in 16 mil movements, you might see ER intead of RE). The problem here is the case 2887. I have seen 6 of them (Kyle's, Desmond's blog, eBay's etc....) and one in my collect...

thank you very much for your input.....

the lugs in this Connie is not same as either Kyle's SM 355 or your SM 353. Your SM 353 has a more sort of a clawed lugs. Even if the case was swapped with the SM then why would it have a Connie case back with the medallion and the inner 2887 inscription....

No, not the SM

Hi EdwardL. We are showing off our SMs with black waffle dials. I am not saying that your watch case was swapped from a SM, It 's a constellation case to me. My only concern is the dial and the movement (they are correct, too. But did they come out of the...

So silly of me. Was checking and replying the post from my BB. Sorry about that. This watch is not mine yet. I will wait for a few more days and make a call on it. Hopefully by then some of our other members will shed more light on this watch. Best to you...

I'm with Hoi on this one...

...the dial looks like it should for a Ref. 2852, not a Ref. 2887. However, I've never seen a Ref. 2887 without a revision number "-1 , -2", etc. So that could be a legitimate variation. Not that there are a lot of Ref. 2887's out there to compare. Since ...

thank you for your input MSN.....

In this case I am tempted by the patina dial.

Where's Kyle?

Here Kyle's http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-1958-omega-constellation-2887-2-cal-505-a-514988.html =========================== Ok, we can check it this way. Compare the colour of the hour markers on the dial with the colour of the medallion. If they ar...

Here's the one that I kept

I was thinking maybe the caseback was replaced, the lugs on the 2887s seem to be more curved?...

I think I was thinking of your SM with the 355 :-)...
