I'm getting tired of these posts whining about the brands inadequacies!

In a previous thread, it was stated in the original post that having a database of stolen watches would not be a good idea for forums like The purist or any other forum. The answer from the person who had the authoity to lock the thread seemd to agree, but yet condem the post?? Maybe, they just didn't read what it said.

Also, members are here because they love watches, and are on a particular forum because they love that brand. I think it is outright silly to say that all posts must talk about how great a brand is or how wonderful your new watch is. People are interested in all aspects of owners experiences, both good and dissapointing.

Both, serve to further our knowledge and appreciation of Horology. In fact, often the most interesting post is a review, where both good and bad are pointed out about a particular watch. You seem to be saying that everyone must only sing praise, or they are in some kind of violation of PuristS rules.

So, no more discussion about the new PP seal, only praise it as a wonderful idea. No more stories both good and bad about your watches?

This, it outside the spirit of  a forum! A forum should allow collectors to share their thoughts and have others learn from them, and/or respond with their own comments.

You are correct in saying the PuristS should not be a police force, so why police the posts, when in fact only reasonable discussion was taking place.

With regard to your comment about the person who lost a watch because someone was in their house, that they should just suck it up, fine, but that was not the purpose of the discussion. There was also a mention of how having a better database of stolen watches would help companies fight against the grey market. I noticed Audemars Piguet talks about this very subject on their web site.

Frankly, it was a discussion that had some intelligence to it. I would rather read something intelligent than just another wrist shot.
