Blancpain: 2100

Thanks, you are correct. I tried CCW and it is proper. I will inform B&Z to change their database.

Patek Philippe: Flood of Dealers clocks on xxxxx

I noticed a flood of so called "dealer clocks" on xxxxxxxxxxxxx lately. I tried to locate the manufacture, Sebastien Kohler, but had no luck using google. These clocks tend to sell at auction for anywhere between xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and they almost always sell. I asked the seller of one clock where I cou

Blancpain: 2100 series winding direction

I noticed that the two authorities I use to determine winding direction being: Orbita.com and Buben & Zorweg.com have winding info on the leman 100 power reserve series exactly opposite. B&Z says wind right while orbirta says CCW. Am I missing something? And if someone does know the correct answer,

Patek Philippe: I'm getting tired of these posts whining about the brands inadequacies!

In a previous thread, it was stated in the original post that having a database of stolen watches would not be a good idea for forums like The purist or any other forum. The answer from the person who had the authoity to lock the thread seemd to agree, but yet condem the post?? Maybe, they just didn

Patek Philippe: Stolen watch database on Purist Forum would work against the rightful owner

If sites like the Purist had a list of stolen watches, I think it would lower the chance of the watch every being returned to the owner. I may have passed hands many times and if the new owner happens to find out his watch is a stolen one, he will be careful not to ever send it in to Stern or Geneva

Patek Philippe: Stolen Watch

Thank those of you who properly understand what it must feel like to have a 3940 stolen from your home, only to find out that Patek really does nothing to help return the watch to you. Again, any complicated Patek at some point in it's life wil need the services of an authorized dealer and if they h

Patek Philippe: good point, but then why have the current policy

The current policy is that Patek maintains a database of stolen watches at Henri Stern and in Geneva. As long as you contact both yourself, they don't exchange information. I was told today that if my watch ever were to show up at Stern, it would be frozen ASAP and I would receive a phone call. In f

Patek Philippe: why in theory only

First, Patek does maintain a list of stolen watches, they just don't share the list with all their Ad's. So are they saying it's OK to bring your stolen watch to one of our Ad's but you had better not send it to HQ? If you had actually sold the watch, then there would be a paper trail showing some f

Patek Philippe: The seal has no logic

The seal has no logic, as everyone has already stated. They have their name on the dial, buckle, movement, case, its all over the place. That is their seal of quality. In the long run, this move will hurt them as quality could fall and still the seal would be in place. If other brands are smart, the

Patek Philippe: Stolen watch database- Doesn't exist!!!!

I had a Patek 3940 perpetual stolen in 1996 from my home. I know who took the watch as there was a repair person in the house that day and he had access to the place where my beloved watch was resting. It actually was hidden, but you had to pass through my home office to get to where he needed to wo
