For Patek, the rings for the cities were made before Moscow revised back to its previous time zone and were produced in "time" for the 175th. If Patek were to re-make the rings, the roll out the 5575 would be off with the rest. Hence, a commercial call on whether collectors want to wait to have Moscow back in the proper time zone. True, some collectors such as EDJA passed on it but others are more than willing to step up. Changing the rings would mean delayed cash flow and Patek is in the business of getting cash for watches already made. Furthermore, Russia might change its mind again.
For me as a collector, the Patek WT watches are never correct anyway in that it does not adjust for day light savings. This shortcoming has never bothered me for the several Patek WTs that I have collected because I find their functionality, overall design, etc. attractive enough to compensate for it. Furthermore, I have never been to Moscow and do not foresee the needs to track that time zone. Additionally, other cities will change their time zones in the future and sooner or later the dial would be more inaccurate. For me, the inaccuracy is a piece of history and not a blatant error.
Hope the above gives you another perspective on this issue.
Cheers,
Gordon
