i think the 5524 is ugly, and poor choice in white gold

I assumed with the 7% price decrease and steeper AD discounts, Patek would be very reserved this year. try and solidify their base of clients and really push what they are known for despite the pricing and competition issues. some new models, but nothing really earth shattering .
5711R makes sense from the loved 5711 model, but this time in rose gold and Patek can make a nice margin by the increased $$$ for case and bracelet.
The updates to the 5270 to FINALLY what the community wants. i personally think its too little, too late especially at MSRP. But easy photoshop redesign and new model.
Like the update to the 5960 with the clearer chrono.
BUT THE 5524...WHO THOUGHT OF THAT AND APPROVED IT FOR PRODUCTION!?!?!? AND IN GOLD!?!?!? its not a particularly pretty watch and certainly does not represent Patek. Patek needs to affirm its image as the finest watch company in the world, making the finest watches with clear classic iconic designs so you spend $$$$$ and pass it on to your kids. not throw darts at a wall and see what sticks. Not to mention releasing the watch in WHITE GOLD?? its going to cost around $50k USD and for that amount of money, Patek is beat by a lot of other companies that can do sports watches a lot better, like Rolex, VC, Jaeger, Journe, Richard Mille (RM10 with a discount).
Would have been smart to set it in stainless steel and sell it for half as much. If I want a travel watch and I am in that younger demographic, for $50k+, I'll pick up a 5130 (with a discount which is entirely possible) and a 5711, or just a 5990.
