Welcome on our forum Was :)

I hope you'll find what you're looking for here.
About your enquiries, we in fact prefer to focus friendly talk on the watches themselves, the economy of the sector etc but try to avoid talking about rebates, prices, good or bad sellers etc... These come to the buyer and the seller and are very subjective matters and question of relationship between both.
However, in order to help you as I can, many elements can explain a difference in pricing:
- the refeences may differ: 2 Ellipse may look the same but are from different generations, models etc (e.g. 3738, 5738 etc...)
- the condition, from As New to Poor condition, if serviced or not etc...
- the taxes (VAT, etc...), the currency variation etc...
- some sites have prices but don't have the watch, some are scams etc... Always "buy the seller": you must know a little about the seller before purchasing. If not confident then don't do it.
You didn't tell us what the reference was so it is very hard to tell you anything about it.
You can use our Search function to find some advice for buying watches, it depends also on your country and fiscal rules. It is very hard (and will take pages) to sum-up all the selling/buying information you're looking for, though very important issues when considering buying a watch, especially on the internet.
Negociation is always possible but it is between you and him, sometimes it is not possible to have rebates (Salons for instance).
This is a very appreciated watch on the forum, thin, dressy, thus elegant but with a very unique look and we have a few owners as well. The movement is reliable with a long time feedback.
It is indeed a quite important purchase and very important project and I wish you too enjoy the watch as the buying experience. Thus, do not hesitate to ask all the questions you want to the seller, some pictures (with newspaper for date etc...) if it is not a seller from the official network but a company buying new because they purchased it from anpother dealer for instance. If honest, he won't refuse. If you feel there is a problem, don't go, other opportunities will rise in the future.
Please keep us informed!
Cheers, Mark
